In the European Art Part II auction, the work Paysage d'hiver, coucher du soleil sold for USD 143,750.00 (€ 128,865.98) - well above the upper estimate of USD 80,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Valérius de Saedeleer; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot A Winter Landscape sold at auction in June 2014 with the realized price of EUR 175,500.00.
