Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Vardea Chryssa could be acquired at Sothebys in Olympia in May 2006 for an unexpectedly low price. In the The Greek Sale auction, the work A Bird changed hands for GBP 900.00 (€ 1,313.71) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Vardea Chryssa achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Les portes de Times Square, New York in May last year with an auction result of EUR 315,375.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Vardea Chryssa konnte im Mai 2006 bei Sothebys in Olympia für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion The Greek Sale wechselte die Arbeit A Bird für GBP 900,00 (€ 1.313,71) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Vardea Chryssa erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Les portes de Times Square, New York im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 315.375,00.
