In the Christie's Interiors auction, the work A game of billiards sold for USD 6,875.00 (€ 4,882.47) - well above the upper estimate of USD 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Victor Cacciarelli - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Cardinal's first visit, which sold at auction in December 2000 for GBP 11,750.00 (€ 18,717.64).
