Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Afternoon in the Park by Victor de Grailly was auctioned at Christies in New York in July 2002, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 3,107.00 (€ 3,171.70). Admittedly, works by Victor de Grailly have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A View Of The Hudson From West Point in March 2007 with an auction result of USD 24,000.00 (€ 17,945.27).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Afternoon in the Park von Victor de Grailly im Juli 2002 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 3.107,00 (€ 3.171,70) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Victor de Grailly auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A View Of The Hudson From West Point im März 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 24.000,00 (€ 17.945,27).
