In December last year Bonhams in Hong Kong held the auction Southeast Asian Modern & Contemporary Art, which included the work Untitled (Portrait) by Vu Cao Dam. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 570,000.00 (€ 68,306.23), 43% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Vu Cao Dam achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Femmes au bain (Women Bathing) in December 2020 with an auction result of HKD 8,050,000.00 (€ 849,100.57).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 43 % übertroffen
Im Dezember letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in Hong Kong die Auktion Southeast Asian Modern & Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Portrait) von Vu Cao Dam zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 570.000,00 (€ 68.306,23) und damit 43% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Vu Cao Dam erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Femmes au bain (Women Bathing) im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 8.050.000,00 (€ 849.100,57).
