A top price for W. Rogers - as previously expected
In May 2008 Christies in London held the auction Maritime, which included the work The returning fishing fleet; and Hulks and fishing vessels in inshore waters (one illustrated) by W. Rogers. The price achieved of GBP 1,000.00 (€ 1,272.04) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, The returning fishing fleet; and Hulks and fishing vessels in inshore waters (one illustrated) is the most expensive artwork by W. Rogers that we have observed at auctions so far.
