A top price for Walter Barker
When the work Venice by Walter Barker was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in April 2020, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - USD 700.00 but the actual price achieved was more than 11 times as high at USD 8,125.00 (€ 7,416.70). This high result makes Venice the most expensive artwork by Walter Barker that we have observed at auctions so far.
