Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2015 Sothebys in London held the auction Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art, which included the work Study For Breadwinners by Walter Langley. It changed hands for a price of GBP 18,750.00 (€ 25,461.60) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Walter Langley achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Cousin From Town in December 2006 with an auction result of GBP 176,000.00 (€ 261,206.03).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2015 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Study For Breadwinners von Walter Langley zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 18.750,00 (€ 25.461,60) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Walter Langley erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Cousin From Town im Dezember 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 176.000,00 (€ 261.206,03).
