Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

Here, the upper estimate of HKD 8,000,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for HKD 8,874,100.00 (€ 1,151,360.81). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Walter Spies - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Blick Von Der Höhe (A View From The Heights), which sold at auction in October 2013 for HKD 31,480,000.00 (€ 2,987,288.51).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Die Landschaft und ihre Kinder (The landscape and her children) von Walter Spies kam im Oktober 2002 bei Christies in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von HKD 8.000.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für HKD 8.874.100,00 (€ 1.151.360,81) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Walter Spies mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Blick Von Der Höhe (A View From The Heights) beobachtet, die im Oktober 2013 für HKD 31.480.000,00 (€ 2.987.288,51) versteigert wurde.
