Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Thüringerwald by Walter Spies was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2011. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 1,000,000.00 – 1,600,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 1,100,000.00 (€ 98,400.11) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Walter Spies achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Blick Von Der Höhe (A View From The Heights) in October 2013 with an auction result of HKD 31,480,000.00 (€ 2,987,288.51).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Thüringerwald von Walter Spies kam im Mai 2011 bei Christies in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 1.000.000,00 – 1.600.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 1.100.000,00 (€ 98.400,11) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Walter Spies erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Blick Von Der Höhe (A View From The Heights) im Oktober 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 31.480.000,00 (€ 2.987.288,51).
