In March 2010 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture, which included the work Carlock by Walter Murch. The »bidding war« ended at USD 31,250.00 (€ 23,103.65), 56% above the upper estimate. This high result makes Carlock the most expensive artwork by Walter Murch that we have observed at auctions so far.
