Sold at the lower estimate price
The work Landscape After Wang Xizhi by Wang Duo was sold in the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2018. The result of HKD 600,000.00 (€ 67,560.89) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of HKD 600,000.00 – 800,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wang Duo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Poems in Cursive Script Calligraphy in May 2011 with an auction result of HKD 32,020,000.00 (€ 2,864,337.79).
