A top price for Wang Weilie
This artwork by Wang Weilie achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2021. In the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings auction, the work Peonies and Mandarin Ducks sold for HKD 327,600.00 (€ 36,440.96) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 120,000.00. This high result makes Peonies and Mandarin Ducks the most expensive artwork by Wang Weilie that we have observed at auctions so far.
