Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Weegee could be acquired at Christies in New York in February 2009 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Icons of Glamour and Style: The Constantiner Collection Part II auction, the work Simply Add Boiling Water, 1937 changed hands for USD 937.50 (€ 740.40) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Weegee achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Weegee Portfolio in October 2019 with an auction result of USD 62,500.00 (€ 56,028.69).
