Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November 2018 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Chinese Contemporary Ink, which included the work Uplifting Lightness by Wesley Tongson. Here, the upper estimate of HKD 90,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for HKD 93,750.00 (€ 10,581.34). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Wesley Tongson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Green Mountains, which sold at auction in November 2021 for HKD 212,500.00 (€ 23,627.85).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November 2018 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Chinese Contemporary Ink durch, in der auch die Arbeit Uplifting Lightness von Wesley Tongson zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von HKD 90.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für HKD 93.750,00 (€ 10.581,34) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Wesley Tongson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Green Mountains beobachtet, die im November 2021 für HKD 212.500,00 (€ 23.627,85) versteigert wurde.
