This artwork by Wilfredo Lam achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in May 2018. In the Latin American Art auction, the work Untitled (Mujer sentada) sold for USD 43,750.00 (€ 37,489.29) - well above the upper estimate of USD 22,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wilfredo Lam achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Omi Obini in June 2020 with an auction result of USD 9,603,800.00 (€ 8,551,153.06).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 99 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Wilfredo Lam erzielte im Mai 2018 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Latin American Art wurde die Arbeit Untitled (Mujer sentada) für USD 43.750,00 (€ 37.489,29) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 22.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wilfredo Lam erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Omi Obini im Juni 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 9.603.800,00 (€ 8.551.153,06).
