Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

The work Dutch shipping off an Italianate harbour by Wigerus Vitringa was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2000. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 8,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 8,812.50 (€ 14,249.70). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Wigerus Vitringa - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Shipping in choppy waters before a crowded beach, a town beyond, which sold at auction in May 2008 for EUR 33,850.00.

Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen

Die Arbeit Dutch shipping off an Italianate harbour von Wigerus Vitringa kam im Juli 2000 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 8.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 8.812,50 (€ 14.249,70) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Wigerus Vitringa mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Shipping in choppy waters before a crowded beach, a town beyond beobachtet, die im Mai 2008 für EUR 33.850,00 versteigert wurde.
