Auction result well in line with expectations

The price achieved of GBP 68,500.00 (€ 86,400.04) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. Admittedly, works by Willem Pietersz. Buytewech have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A fish market in a Dutch town, with a bridge and houses in the background in January 2002 with an auction result of USD 468,000.00 (€ 544,565.98).
