Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2014 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master & British Drawings, which included the work Portrait Of The English Fourth Rate, Tiger, As Rebuilt In 1681 by Willem van de Velde I. The price achieved of GBP 31,250.00 (€ 39,416.08) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Willem van de Velde I achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Dutch Harbor In A Calm With Small Vessels Inshore And Beached Among Fishermen, A Kaag At Anchor, A States Yacht And Men O'War Offshore: A "Penschilderij" in January 2015 with an auction result of USD 5,429,000.00 (€ 4,808,680.25).
Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Dutch Harbor In A Calm With Small Vessels Inshore And Beached Among Fishermen, A Kaag At Anchor, A States Yacht And Men O'War Offshore: A "Penschilderij" im Januar 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 5.429.000,00 (€ 4.808.680,25).
