The work Angels preparing the Virgin for the Presentation in the Temple by Willem van Herp was sold in the Old Master Pictures auction at Christies in London in July 2004. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 7,170.00 (€ 10,835.45), 20% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Willem van Herp have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Tavern With Merrymakers And Cardplayers in December 2014 with an auction result of GBP 68,500.00 (€ 88,182.22).

Die Arbeit Angels preparing the Virgin for the Presentation in the Temple von Willem van Herp wurde im Juli 2004 in der Auktion Old Master Pictures bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 7.170,00 (€ 10.835,45) und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Willem van Herp auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Tavern With Merrymakers And Cardplayers im Dezember 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 68.500,00 (€ 88.182,22).
