Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Game on a ledge by William Cruickshank was sold in the AT HOME - PORTRAIT MINIATURES, OBJECTS OF VERTU, ICONS, RUSS auction at Christies in London in May 2004. The price achieved of GBP 358.50 (€ 537.88) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 300.00 – 400.00. Admittedly, works by William Cruickshank have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A cat and mouse with a pheasant and a rabbit in a larder; and Pheasant and a hare in a larder in June 2000 with an auction result of GBP 1,527.50 (€ 2,421.28).
