This artwork by William Daniell achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in July 2011. In the Old Master & Early British Drawings & Watercolours auction, the work Windsor Castle from the Brocas Meadow sold for GBP 34,850.00 (€ 39,995.59) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 18,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Daniell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Shivala Ghaut and Cheyt Singh's House near Benares in December 2016 with an auction result of GBP 485,000.00 (€ 567,043.69).
