This price was achieved in the auction Travel, Science and Natural History at Christies in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 1,200.00 many times over. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Daniell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Shivala Ghaut and Cheyt Singh's House near Benares in December 2016 with an auction result of GBP 485,000.00 (€ 567,043.69).
