Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2020 Sothebys in London held the auction Scottish Art, which included the work Spring Structure by William Gear. The price achieved of GBP 9,450.00 (€ 10,549.39) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Gear - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Summer afternoon, which sold at auction in June 2015 for GBP 20,000.00 (€ 28,199.75).
