Auction result misses estimated price range
In May 2003 a collector was able to acquire the work Unloading the catch on the jetty at Whitby by William Howard for GBP 1,175.00 (€ 1,637.07). This price was achieved in the auction Maritime at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 1,200.00 – 1,800.00 set by the auction house. Other works by William Howard have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in September 2002 by the work Figures in a Dutch town at GBP 1,762.50 (€ 2,801.02).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Mai 2003 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Unloading the catch on the jetty at Whitby von William Howard für GBP 1.175,00 (€ 1.637,07) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Maritime bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.200,00 – 1.800,00. Andere Arbeiten von William Howard wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im September 2002 die Arbeit Figures in a Dutch town mit GBP 1.762,50 (€ 2.801,02).
