Auction result well in line with expectations

In September this year Bonhams in London held the auction A Focus on William Kentridge, which included the work Heating and Ventilation (After Manet), 2007-2008 by William Kentridge. It changed hands for a price of GBP 1,792.00 (€ 1,792.00) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 1,200.00 – 1,800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Kentridge achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Procession in March 2013 with an auction result of USD 1,538,500.00 (€ 1,200,452.56).

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Im September diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion A Focus on William Kentridge durch, in der auch die Arbeit Heating and Ventilation (After Manet), 2007-2008 von William Kentridge zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 1.792,00 (€ 1.792,00) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.200,00 – 1.800,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Kentridge erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Procession im März 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.538.500,00 (€ 1.200.452,56).
