Auction result misses estimated price range

In September this year a collector was able to acquire the work Nose 20, from Nose, 2009 by William Kentridge for GBP 1,280.00 (€ 1,280.00). This price was achieved in the auction A Focus on William Kentridge at Bonhams in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,500.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Kentridge achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Procession in March 2013 with an auction result of USD 1,538,500.00 (€ 1,200,452.56).

Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne

Im September diesen Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Nose 20, from Nose, 2009 von William Kentridge für GBP 1.280,00 (€ 1.280,00) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion A Focus on William Kentridge bei Bonhams in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Kentridge erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Procession im März 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.538.500,00 (€ 1.200.452,56).
