Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by William Kentridge could be acquired at Bonhams in London in September this year for an unexpectedly low price. In the A Focus on William Kentridge auction, the work Untitled (Two Drawings from Weighing and Wanting), 1997-98 changed hands for GBP 3,840.00 (€ 3,840.00) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Kentridge achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Procession in March 2013 with an auction result of USD 1,538,500.00 (€ 1,200,452.56).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von William Kentridge konnte im September diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion A Focus on William Kentridge wechselte die Arbeit Untitled (Two Drawings from Weighing and Wanting), 1997-98 für GBP 3.840,00 (€ 3.840,00) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Kentridge erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Procession im März 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.538.500,00 (€ 1.200.452,56).
