Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by William Lionel Wyllie could be acquired at Bonhams in Edinburgh in October 2021 for an unexpectedly low price. In the The Scottish Sale auction, the work Hay Barges, Folly Bay changed hands for GBP 127.50 (€ 151.05) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Lionel Wyllie achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Landing Fish, Ambleteuse in July 2015 with an auction result of GBP 50,000.00 (€ 70,883.21).
