In May 2001 Christies in London held the auction THE IRISH SALE, which included the work View in the Wicklow hills with figures on horseback beside a river and the Bray Head beyond; and View of Powerscourt Waterfall in Powerscourt Park, Co. Wicklow by William Sadler. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 8,812.50 (€ 14,774.36), 47% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by William Sadler have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Donnybrook Fair in November 2018 with an auction result of GBP 68,750.00 (€ 77,547.91).

Im Mai 2001 führte Christies in London die Auktion THE IRISH SALE durch, in der auch die Arbeit View in the Wicklow hills with figures on horseback beside a river and the Bray Head beyond; and View of Powerscourt Waterfall in Powerscourt Park, Co. Wicklow von William Sadler zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 8.812,50 (€ 14.774,36) und damit 47% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Sadler auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Donnybrook Fair im November 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 68.750,00 (€ 77.547,91).
