Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The young anglers by William Underhill was auctioned at Christies in London in September 2013, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 7,000.00 – 10,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 6,250.00 (€ 7,470.91). Other works by William Underhill have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in July 2007 by the work The Day'S Bag at GBP 6,480.00 (€ 9,624.30).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit The young anglers von William Underhill im September 2013 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 6.250,00 (€ 7.470,91) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von William Underhill wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Juli 2007 die Arbeit The Day'S Bag mit GBP 6.480,00 (€ 9.624,30).
