Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2000 Christies in London held the auction British and Victorian Pictures, which included the work 'A family gathering' by William R. C. Watson. It changed hands for a price of GBP 2,820.00 (€ 4,609.18) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William R. C. Watson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sheep grazing by a loch, which sold at auction in October 2008 for GBP 8,750.00 (€ 11,153.11).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2000 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Victorian Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit 'A family gathering' von William R. C. Watson zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 2.820,00 (€ 4.609,18) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von William R. C. Watson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Sheep grazing by a loch beobachtet, die im Oktober 2008 für GBP 8.750,00 (€ 11.153,11) versteigert wurde.
