Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Fish in Play by Wu Guanzhong was sold in the Modern & Contemporary Art and Southeast Asian Art auction at Bonhams in New York in May this year. The price achieved of HKD 19,200.00 (€ 2,301.33) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 14,000.00 – 28,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wu Guanzhong achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Zhou Village in April 2016 with an auction result of HKD 236,000,000.00 (€ 26,588,934.53).
