This artwork by Xavier Della Gatta achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in January this year. In the Old Master & British Drawings auction, the work Return from the feast at Montevergine sold for USD 5,292.00 (€ 4,873.83) - well above the upper estimate of USD 2,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Xavier Della Gatta achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Naples, Vue Du Palais Royal De Portici, Avec Le Vésuve En Éruption; Naples, Vue Du Port De Portici in June 2009 with an auction result of EUR 138,750.00.

Dieses Kunstwerk von Xavier Della Gatta erzielte im Januar diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master & British Drawings wurde die Arbeit Return from the feast at Montevergine für USD 5.292,00 (€ 4.873,83) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 2.500,00.
