Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2017 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Chinese Paintings, which included the work Selling Toys To Children by Xu Cao. The price achieved of HKD 118,750.00 (€ 14,016.75) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. Admittedly, works by Xu Cao have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Riding In Spring in April 2015 with an auction result of HKD 943,000.00 (€ 108,983.16).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2017 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Chinese Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Selling Toys To Children von Xu Cao zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 118.750,00 (€ 14.016,75) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Xu Cao auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Riding In Spring im April 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 943.000,00 (€ 108.983,16).
