Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Yayoi Kusama achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in Hong Kong in May last year. In the Modern and Contemporary Art auction, the work Flowers (4) sold for HKD 355,800.00 (€ 42,241.10) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 120,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Yayoi Kusama achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Pumpkin in April this year with an auction result of HKD 30,000,000.00 (€ 30,635,869.57).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Yayoi Kusama erzielte im Mai letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Art wurde die Arbeit Flowers (4) für HKD 355.800,00 (€ 42.241,10) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 120.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Yayoi Kusama erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Pumpkin im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 30.000.000,00 (€ 30.635.869,57).
