Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Nocturne, 1955 by Zao Wou-Ki was sold in the Chinese Painting20th Century & Beyond Part II auction at Bonhams in Sydney in September this year. The price achieved of USD 4,160.00 (€ 3,930.46) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Zao Wou-Ki achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 29.09.64. in May last year with an auction result of HKD 278,000,000.00 (€ 33,004,566.21).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Nocturne, 1955 von Zao Wou-Ki wurde im September diesen Jahres in der Auktion Chinese Painting20th Century & Beyond Part II bei Bonhams in Sydney versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 4.160,00 (€ 3.930,46) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Zao Wou-Ki erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit 29.09.64. im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 278.000.000,00 (€ 33.004.566,21).
