Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Mountainside by Zeng Mi was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2017, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 75,000.00 (€ 8,852.68). Admittedly, works by Zeng Mi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Landscape in September 2014 with an auction result of USD 60,000.00 (€ 47,513.46).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Mountainside von Zeng Mi im April 2017 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 80.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 75.000,00 (€ 8.852,68) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Zeng Mi auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Landscape im September 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 60.000,00 (€ 47.513,46).
