In November 2017 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Chinese Modern Paintings, which included the work Cat and Butterfly by Zhang Daqian. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 1,062,500.00 (€ 114,394.23), 52% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Zhang Daqian achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Landscape after Wang Ximeng in April last year with an auction result of HKD 370,495,000.00 (€ 44,795,542.37).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 52 % übertroffen
Im November 2017 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Chinese Modern Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Cat and Butterfly von Zhang Daqian zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 1.062.500,00 (€ 114.394,23) und damit 52% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Zhang Daqian erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Landscape after Wang Ximeng im April letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 370.495.000,00 (€ 44.795.542,37).
