This price was achieved in the auction The Tang Hung and Fung Bi-Che Collection of Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy at Sothebys in New York and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 12,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Zhang Xiong; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Flowers And Fruits sold at auction in March 2013 with the realized price of USD 87,500.00 (€ 68,274.03).
