This artwork by Zhang Zhiwan achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in September 2017. In the Fine Chinese Paintings auction, the work Early Spring sold for USD 5,625.00 (€ 4,761.70) - well above the upper estimate of USD 3,200.00. Admittedly, works by Zhang Zhiwan have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Landscape in September 2012 with an auction result of USD 25,000.00 (€ 19,446.17).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 76 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Zhang Zhiwan erzielte im September 2017 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Paintings wurde die Arbeit Early Spring für USD 5.625,00 (€ 4.761,70) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 3.200,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Zhang Zhiwan auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Landscape im September 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 25.000,00 (€ 19.446,17).
