This artwork by Zuo Zongtang achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2015. In the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings auction, the work Calligraphy Couplet In Seal Script sold for HKD 375,000.00 (€ 43,810.00) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 160,000.00. Admittedly, works by Zuo Zongtang have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Calligraphy In Running Script in September 2014 with an auction result of USD 317,000.00 (€ 251,029.46).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Zuo Zongtang erzielte im Oktober 2015 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings wurde die Arbeit Calligraphy Couplet In Seal Script für HKD 375.000,00 (€ 43.810,00) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 160.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Zuo Zongtang auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Calligraphy In Running Script im September 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 317.000,00 (€ 251.029,46).
