The love of light and shadow, the power and play with colors, the complete mental immersion in the act of painting magically attract Angela Wichmann and led her to painting. What fascinates her is the effect of light in all its numerous facets and states: the perception of different colored light sources in the context of darkness, distorted reflections on the water surface, or the visual shape solely through the reflections of something transparent. Angela Wichmann plays with the blur and the contours seem to blur. What all images have in common is the depth effect achieved through the spatial composition. They are visible to the viewer from a certain distance, and the style is fascinating in detail, from fine glazes to powerful impasto. She paints representationally and prefers to move in urban spaces. They are driven by reflecting on what already exists and at the same time having complete freedom to change and thus create something new.
