I AM A TORNED BILLBOARD

Welcome to my world.

I never thought I would become an artist. I worked in fashion from the age of 20, and really loved it. I was creative within that industry, but for me it was part of the job, and I never questioned myself about it.

In 2001 I discovered a piece of art from  Jacques Villéglé. It was a huge ripped poster from 1960's. I looked at it and I understood. It triggered something in me. I knew straight away that I had found my language, that I  could express myself that way, with little pieces of paper.

I AM INTRIGUED BY THE BEAUTY OF DECAY

I started collecting pieces of papers and cut out from the streets. It was a long process, but I started pasting the pieces on canvas. I was on my way.

In the mean time, I was also taking photography. Generaly of empty streets, abandonned places, old factories. In 2014, I decided to create on them instead of empty canvas. I always imagine things when I take a photo. So with collage and paint I could give another life to the place... A twist of surrealism, situations that could not happen in real life .. I alway say : The street is my playground. Making everything possible. Having fun. No limits !

The fact is I am still experimenting. I dont want to give myself limits, because there is so much we can do. I have so much imagination, I want to try all my ideas.

TO THE STREETS

2017 Berlin ... January. As expected, it was a cold month, with a little snow. I was lost! Lost  in Wilmesdorf ! Berlin felt so big, I could not see where I was and where I should go! Where should I begin? Although emotionally hurt, I was determined to start again! I decided to live here, I was called by Berlin and here I was so , on your bike girl !  look at it, feel it, live it, it’s all here for you! Armed with my camera , I started to get lost to find the soul of the City and rebuilt myself. My primitive German allowed me to be sympathetic to Berliner’s . In fact they were intrigued by this French multicolored thing going around with that stupid childish smile on her face!

From meeting one person to another, I quickly entered the street artist crowd. Urban Nation : Yasha Young, curator of the future museum, liked my work and made a place for me on the Bülowstraße ! A  2.50 X 3.00 meters space. I never did anything that big, 40x50 was my usual format ! After many sleepless nights, I got it and did it! That’s when I realized that artists needed challenges and projects to create further and evolve . I was 53 years old and I never dreamed of being there amongst all these artists. I was not living a dream...but I was being an Artist.
