today, one often perceives not with one´s eyes but through a device. or sometimes not at all. an artistic space, be it an exhibition or performance or nature, is thus being reduced to a mere background for (digital) interaction. perception changes into deception. or the other way around? or is it just the beholder who is tricked?

this series bases on snapshots taken of people in various situations of perception, be it exhibitions or nature or else, and their individual attitude. art in general wishes to be focused on by the viewer. preferably with the utmost attention. but today, an exclusive perception is hard to accomplish as deception is everywhere. often right in our hands. literarily.

The seasons have been an ever interesting subject in the arts. They are - quite frankly - unavoidable and have a huge impact on our everyday perception of things.
My approach is to combine vibrant backgrounds (created intuitively reflecting the general atmosphere of the season or the impact a poem - see autumn - or of a song - see winter - or else) with graphical and/or typographical elements.
I aim at giving each season their proper "universe", their individual depth, their proper map. And thus letting their character come to life.
All works are Acryl and mixed media (e.g. crayon, watercolour, marker, graphite) on Arches heavy weight paper.
