After many years in the USA Henning Haupt live and works in Dresden since 2020 and now as well in Berlin. He became a new member at ep-contemporary, Berlin in 2025. His solo exhibit „Magenta Growing Strong“ got it’s title after one of the painting, part of a series of non-representational paintings, oil on canvas from 2024-25 shown in the exhibit. Haupt layers thin paints and paints bondless, large scale color spaces which are continued and modulated with various other paint consistencies and painting techniques. The color tends to gain the character of object, builds constellation or structure of painting processes, that might again melt with the in the rather undefined color space.
