Artist Statement

Karin Döring focuses on modern portrait painting and works primarily with acrylic and gilding. During her development process it soon becomes clear: she likes to move outside the norm. Early on, she developed the HUMAN STRIPES® series, an innovative painting technique that enables viewers to perceive art with all their senses.

Right from the start, she didn't take the usual path: Döring never attended art school, but rather learned painting techniques self-taught and developed them continuously and ambitiously. It is precisely this fact that reveals unimagined potential and gives her the greatest possible creative freedom.

She considers following her passion to be the greatest form of freedom. Her passion is absolute dedication to art. She reveals this devotion to her viewers in every work of art.
