The »bidding war« ended at GBP 110,000.00 (€ 128,607.85), 38% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Adriaen Coorte achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Three Peaches On A Stone Ledge, With A Red Admiral Butterfly in December 2014 with an auction result of GBP 3,442,500.00 (€ 4,431,639.12).

Die Arbeit Still Life Of Herring On A Plate With A Bread Roll, A Glass Of Beer And An Onion von Adriaen Coorte wurde im Dezember 2016 in der Auktion Old Masters Evening Sale bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 110.000,00 (€ 128.607,85) und damit 38% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Adriaen Coorte erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Three Peaches On A Stone Ledge, With A Red Admiral Butterfly im Dezember 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.442.500,00 (€ 4.431.639,12).
