Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Aisha Khalid achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in March 2011. In the Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art auction, the work Barbed sold for USD 17,500.00 (€ 12,338.72) - well above the upper estimate of USD 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Aisha Khalid - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Pattern to Follow, which sold at auction in June 2019 for GBP 25,000.00 (€ 28,103.71).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Aisha Khalid erzielte im März 2011 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art wurde die Arbeit Barbed für USD 17.500,00 (€ 12.338,72) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 8.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Aisha Khalid mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Pattern to Follow beobachtet, die im Juni 2019 für GBP 25.000,00 (€ 28.103,71) versteigert wurde.
