Auction result well in line with expectations

The work The Journey from The Phantom of the Opera by Al Hirschfeld was sold in the Music & Monsters auction at Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts in October this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 600.00 – 800.00, the actual price achieved of USD 640.00 (€ 605.60) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Al Hirschfeld achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Night At The '21' Club in April 2012 with an auction result of USD 8,750.00 (€ 6,614.26).

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Die Arbeit The Journey from The Phantom of the Opera von Al Hirschfeld wurde im Oktober diesen Jahres in der Auktion Music & Monsters bei Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 600,00 – 800,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 640,00 (€ 605,60) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Al Hirschfeld erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Night At The '21' Club im April 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 8.750,00 (€ 6.614,26).
